The Way of the Bodhisattva
The Way of the Bodhisattva L46 The main speaker of this session is Khenpo Sodargye Eradicating Afflictions with the Wisdom of Emptiness
In this session, Khenpo Sodargye wraps up the fourth chapter of the Bodhicharyavatara by emphasizing the absolute determination a practitioner must have: to rather endure intense physical pain or death than ever surrender to inner afflictions. He explains that unlike worldly enemies who may retreat and return to attack later, afflictions, once severed at the root by the sword of wisdom, can never revive. Khenpo teaches how to analyze afflictions through both the ultimate truth—where afflictions do not inherently exist in the faculties, objects, or the space between them—and the conventional truth—where afflictions are recognized as mere illusions and dreams. He concludes by summarizing the essence of "carefulness" (apramada) as actively taming one's own mind, refraining from harming others, and putting the bodhisattva precepts into genuine practice.
