Lesson 2
Original Vows of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Sutra
Khenpo Sodargye explains that no sentient being should ever be regarded as an enemy. The true enemies are ignorance, attachment, anger, and the many afflictions that bind the mind.
He also discusses how studying and reciting the Ksitigarbha Sutra can become a profound way to repay the kindness of our parents—not only by caring for them in this life, but by helping them across lifetimes.
This lesson explores the Buddha’s teaching in the Trāyastriṃśa Heaven, the meaning of wrathful Buddhist forms, the difference between reasoned faith and blind belief, and the vast gathering of devas, nāgas, spirits, and ghost kings described in the sutra.
