Course Description: Mahayana Buddhism holds that mental illnesses arise from self-attachment and karmic causes. Khenpo Sodargye advises cultivating a compassionate bodhicitta, realizing emptiness, contemplating impermanence, purifying karmic obscurations, and reciting the Heart Mantra of Acala and the names of the Seven Medicine Buddhas to strengthen the mind, stabilize body and mind, and alleviate autism and depression. Inner practice is emphasized over external remedies.
